Winter volunteering – tracking wolves!

A spontaneous gathering of trackers!

Snow has fallen, so we are starting probably the last winter tracking trip of the year.

We are looking for 2-3 people to help with field research in the Świętokrzyska Forest. The research starts on Tuesday, February 17, or Wednesday, February 18, at around 8:00 a.m., so it is best to arrive the evening before. The research ends on Saturday, February 21, in the afternoon or earlier (depending on conditions). You can come for a shorter period (minimum 3 days).

We offer accommodation at our base near Skarżysko-Kamienna in home-like conditions (bed or mattress, shared room or space, kitchen, bathroom). Meals are not provided (a stove, microwave, etc. are available). This is an opportunity to gain valuable experience, learn more about our Foundation’s wolf monitoring project, and enjoy an adventure in the magical Świętokrzyska Forest.

Tasks:
– following wolf tracks
– operating GPS
– recording tracks found

Requirements:
– age 20+
– education in natural sciences (or currently studying)
– ability to recognize animal tracks
– independence and perseverance
– very good physical condition (tracking from sunrise to sunset)
– good orientation in the field
– no fear of being alone in the forest off the trails.
